Both Banyan Learning Tree Schools and A Mine Free World Foundation would like to THANK EVERYONE who participated in the BLT Charity Draw organized by Patti Lee and Barbara Seagram.
The schools are booming. All is well with them. Great teachers. Barbara's cousin lives in Australia and visited the schools in October (for the second year in a row) and spent a week teaching English and other skills to the students. On one day, when the rain was pouring down and school had to be cancelled, she held a teacher workshop for three teachers to train them with new skills. All wonderful.
Patti and Barbara hoped to raise $1,500.00. They only dreamed about making $2,000.00...
and they have EXCEEDED their wildest expectations with this total of $2,440.00.
They are THRILLED!!!
The real winners are our schools and the children...but the winners of the draw are:
All money raised (every dime) goes directly to Banyan Learning Tree schools in Cambodia. These schools are built and sustained by Patti Lee, Barbara Seagram and the bridge community of Toronto and beyond! Funds raised are used to keep these four schools running - teacher's salaries, school supplies, utilities, etc. These schools provide free English, computer and basic sanitation education to impoverished Cambodian children. All the schools also include a library and provide many outreach programs for landmine-affected families.
Again, thank you, one and all, for caring enough to be involved in our fundraising efforts and for your enormous generosity. The children of Cambodia thank you also.
